PayPal and eBay

PayPal is a Web site that accepts credit card and bank transfer payments. You don't need to set up a PayPal account to donate via PayPal. Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover are accepted. Because of PayPal's fees, any donation of under 35 cents or so doesn't reach PGLAF. Instead, consider letting your small donations add up to a dollar or more before sending it with PayPal.

If you have a PayPal account you also can log in and select "Send Money." When prompted, specify donate2012_AT_pglaf.org (change _AT_ to @) as the recipient, and you will be presented with PGLAF's information. Send the payment as you would any other payment. Funds go directly to PGLAF via PayPal.

The fee charged by PayPal for payments is 2.9% of the transaction plus 30 cents per transaction. (For a $100 payment, this amounts to $3.20 or 3.2%. For $10, the fee is $0.59 or 5.9%). PayPal accepts non-US accounts and funds. For donations over $1, we will send a "thank-you" email when your donation is received.

A related donation method is eBay, where Project Gutenberg is registered with the Mission Fish fundraising resource. Using Mission Fish, eBay sellers may donate a portion of their proceeds directly to Project Gutenberg; buyers and eBay visitors can "Donate Now." The Project Gutenberg non-profit page in eBay, for buyers, sellers, and donate now, is atdonations.ebay.com/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=42677.
